Meet Jane
Our daughter Jane was clever, kind, and very determined. When she passed away unexpectedly at just four years old, we knew we wanted to honor her loving spirit by helping others.
Jane worked hard to overcome motor planning issues that made it difficult for her speech to keep up with all the things she was thinking and wanted to share, and she was able to express herself through a combination of speech therapy, sign language, and creativity. As her parents we were proud of her motivation, even as we wished we could magically remove some of the roadblocks ahead.
We were fortunate to be able to slow down and meet Jane exactly where she was, so we could walk alongside her on her unique developmental path. She benefited from working with excellent therapists, being able to follow her interests in things like music, art, and the outdoors, and lots of other big and small things that made her world more accessible.
Through her namesake Jane May Foundation, we hope to help other families and children access similar opportunities. We’re grateful for everyone who is a part of her legacy and this community.
